Pelvic physiotherapy has been referred to as “internal Pilates” and aims to strengthen the muscles lining your pelvic floor.

Our pelvic health physiotherapist is a Registered Physiotherapist who has taken post-graduate training in the assessment and treatment of pelvic health conditions and works closely with local urologists and other specialists to ensure exceptional patient care.

Some common conditions that we support at Valeo Wellness include: incontinence, urinary frequency, urinary urgency, pelvic organ prolapse, constipation, pelvic pain, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, painful intercourse, and prostatitis.

These conditions are commonly associated with dysfunction in the pelvic floor muscles (this group of muscles attach to the front, back and sides of the pelvis and sacrum.)

At the assessment and subsequent visits, your pelvic health physiotherapist will take a detailed history and complete the physical exam.
